Class Description:
In this class you will learn how to create dynamic compositions using a repeatable plan that applies the elements and principles of design. You will no longer be a slave to your reference material! The beauty of this plan is that it is applicable to any medium and subject, including portraiture.
Selected elements, principles and design formats will be executed in small sale designs prior to larger finished pieces. Students will learn to do this using value studies and thumbnail sketches and the importance of these tools for successful compositional design.
Note: You will work in your own chosen medium; therefore, you are responsible to bring whatever materials are necessary for your medium. There will be a few non-expensive items needed, and you will be given a list of those items upon registration for the class.
Upon receipt of registration, you will receive the materials list.
