If you’re looking to elevate your watercolor skills and break free from the confines of copying photographs, this workshop is for you. With Lionel’s guidance, you’ll learn how to transform reference photos into unique, expressive paintings that reflect your personal style. His love for both painting and teaching makes learning easy and enjoyable. Lionel’s calm, assured teaching style is perfect for soothing anxious students and helping everyone discover the joy of watercolor. |

In this fun and interactive class, you’ll start with composition and thumbnail sketches, gradually building up your painting until those final details bring it all together. Plus, we’ve extended the class times so you can complete each masterpiece during the session.
Join us for a creative journey where you’ll not just learn but make leaps and bounds in your watercolor work. Lionel’s classes are not just about painting—they’re about inspiration, exploration, and most importantly, having fun!
Classes on September 5 and 26 will be focused on designing a painting from a photograph, but we have two classes with a little twist to add to the fun: on September 12 we will dive into the world of texture by painting on sandpaper, and on October 3 we will be experimenting with pen and wash techniques for a dynamic finish.
The pictures show are for reference to give you an idea of Lionel's process; however, on the day of class the registrants will vote on the reference picture they'd like to use; Lionel brings plenty so there will be a lot to choose from!
