Celebrate the holidays with a little tropical flair! Festive Flamingo combines Florida color with holiday sparkle in a fun, beginner-friendly acrylic Paint Party.
In just two hours, you’ll create this colorful 16 × 20 painting featuring a fabulous pink flamingo, a festive martini glass, glowing lights, and tropical palms. We’ll guide you through the painting step by step, so no previous painting experience is needed.
All supplies are included—come ready to paint, have fun, and leave with your own Festive Flamingo to brighten the holidays.

A completed 16 × 20 Festive Flamingo acrylic painting to take home at the end of the party—and a couple of enjoyable hours spent painting something decidedly different from the usual holiday fare.

Working step by step, you’ll learn how to:

Build a rich background with loose acrylic brushwork

Create simple palm fronds and glowing party lights

Block in the flamingo using easy shapes and layers of pink and coral

Add feather texture without painting every individual feather

Create the illusion of a clear martini glass with a few well-placed highlights

Cindy Vener is an award-winning Central Florida artist whose vibrant landscapes and abstracts explore color, light, texture, and expressive mark-making. Working primarily in acrylic, oil, and oil with cold wax, Cindy is known for her bold palette, energetic brushwork, and richly layered surfaces inspired by the Florida landscape.
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Cindy spent nearly four decades in Virginia before making Central Florida her home. She has been painting for more than 25 years and studied for ten years with Virginia artist Rosalie Day White, in addition to studying with nationally recognized artists including Robert Burridge, Jane Slivka, Sara Linda Poly, and others.
Cindy’s work has been selected for numerous juried exhibitions and has received awards from the Florida Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, and regional and national exhibitions. Her paintings are held in private, public, and corporate collections, including University of Florida Health facilities.
An experienced instructor, Cindy has taught acrylic, abstract, palette knife, and oil-and-cold-wax workshops in both Virginia and Florida. Her teaching encourages artists to loosen up, experiment, and develop confidence with color, texture, and expressive paint handling.
