Michael’s artwork explores the duality of unexplored landscapes—often depicting paradise-like marshes and riverways alongside mysterious characters who use remote areas as refuge from public sight. Research is a major part of his process, involving found imagery, metal scraps, and observation. His work excavates the natural beauty of untamed environments while revealing the tension that can exist in inaccessible places.

As an instructor, Michael focuses on strong drawing fundamentals and skill-building exercises that help students improve quickly. His teaching style is structured, supportive, and designed to make drawing feel approachable for every level.
