A native of Trinidad, Colorado, Lionel P. Sanchez began serious art study after serving in the U.S. Navy, with formal training at Auraria Community College in Denver and workshops throughout Colorado and New Mexico. Known for his strong drawing skills and bold use of line and color, Lionel paints a wide range of subjects—from architecture and landscapes to florals—in watercolor and mixed media.

Lionel’s work is held in corporate and private collections throughout the Southwest and beyond. He has taught workshops in Colorado and Florida, and holds Signature Member status in the Colorado Watercolor Society, Florida Watercolor Society, Miami Watercolor Society, and Gold Coast Watercolor Society. He also served as Past President of the Miami Watercolor Society (2012–2013) and has earned multiple Best of Show and award honors.
