Jane's Bio:

Jane Slivka is a dynamic acrylic artist and educator based in historic Mount Dora, Florida. She began her creative journey studying watercolor at Endicott College in Boston and later earned a degree in Art Education from Ohio University, with a formative semester in Florence, Italy, where she immersed herself in the richness of Renaissance art. 

Originally from Ann Arbor and Cleveland, Jane eventually found her calling in Florida’s vibrant art scene, opening her own gallery-studio in 2004. There, she brings her vision to life through large-scale, tropical-inspired paintings alive with bold color and confident textures 

Nurturing a free-spirited approach to acrylics, Jane encourages artists to paint with less restraint and more personality. Her workshops blend fast, loose strokes with vivid palette choices, guiding students to create several energized, expressive artworks in just a few days.

Through daily demos, personalized feedback, and a lighthearted teaching style, she empowers painters of all levels to break free from perfectionism and trust their artistic instincts. Jane’s work is regularly featured in regional galleries and celebrated in juried exhibitions, while her instructional programs continue to inspire a growing community of acrylic enthusiasts.
