Christopher Leeper is an award-winning realist painter and nationally recognized workshop instructor working in watercolor, oil, acrylic, and pastel. His paintings have been featured in solo and juried exhibitions throughout the United States, and his practical, encouraging teaching style has made him a sought-after instructor across the country.
Chris is the author and illustrator of Realism in Watermedia (North Light Books) and has illustrated four children's books. His work has appeared in The Artist's Magazine, PleinAir Magazine, Watercolor Magic, Ohio Magazine, and Splash 14. In 2021, he was a finalist in the PleinAir Magazine Salon, and in 2026 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ohio Watercolor Society.
A graduate of Youngstown State University with a BFA in Graphic Design, Chris is a past president of the Ohio Watercolor Society and a signature member of both the Oil Painters of America and the National Oil & Acrylic Painters' Society. Since 2000, he has painted and taught full-time from his studio in Canfield, Ohio.
