Class Description:
This class is an exciting departure from the conventional approaches using color pencils and pastel pens.  In this class, the drawing is on black backgrounds, creating the "eye-popping" power of contrasts to create dramatic results.  A variety of subject matter, coupled with various shading techniques and color usage gives the art student a new awareness of this fun approach.

Students will learn how to:

Transfer images    
Present their art
Shade, layer and burnish
Create dramatic contrasts
Create a reversal value scale
Use color effectively
Create various strokes
Use the grisaille technique 
Harness the appeal of light
Use the reversal techniques with various subjects
