The Amaryllis is a favorite blooming flower at Christmas. It grows from a bulb and has multiple large flowers with 6 trumpet shaped petals. In this one-day workshop Mindy Lighthipe teaches how to do a traditional botanical watercolor. We will draw, compose and paint the plant from bud to flower, to leaves to stalk, bulb to roots. Handouts will be available, and it is recommended to bring/buy a flowering Amaryllis to class. All levels welcome. Mindy says any good watercolor paper will work for this project -- Lanaquarelle, Fabriano, Arches, or any other good 100% cotton 14 lb watercolor paper. Village Art Workshops has both Fabriano and Arches paper for sale.
