How Do Zoom Workshops Work?
Number 1: It is easy! If an artist is presenting a Zoom workshop, you will receive a meeting link from Village Art Workshops a few days before the event with instructions for connecting. You do not need a Zoom account, but it is best to download the Zoom app BEFORE the event. Here is a link for the Zoom Download Center: https://zoom.us/download
About ten minutes before the workshop start time, click on the link you received, and you will be taken directly to the meeting. There will be a monitor who will let you into the event and show you how to use the Zoom platform. The monitor will keep track of questions and help you with any video and audio controls or troubles.
If you would like to speak to the artist, you can use the microphone on your computer and through the Chat feature on Zoom if the monitor has turned on these features. If enabled, you can also talk privately to your friends through the Zoom platform. It is easy and we will show you how!
At the end of the day there will be time for questions and concerns.
Any handouts for the workshop will be sent to you via email.
How Do YouTube Livestream Workshops Work?
Still easy! YouTube Livestream is very similar to Zoom, but there are no apps to download.
With YouTube Livestream, you will receive a link a few days before the workshop. About ten minutes before the workshop start time, click on the link you received, and you will immediately be watching the demo.
Just as with Zoom, you will be able to ask questions and the monitor will funnel those questions to the artist.
Any handouts for the workshop will be sent to you via email.
