Class Description:

Lionel's love of painting, combined with his love of teaching, will provide students with a wonderful opportunity to learn watercolor techniques. Lionel has a calm, assured teaching style that soothes anxious students and makes learning easy and fun. Lionel teaches in the traditional manner, guiding students in watercolor painting, starting with composition and thumbnail sketches and ending with knowing where to put those final details.  If you want to make leaps and bounds in your watercolor work, this is the class for you!
 
Students will learn how to

•     pick the best reference material
•     do quick thumbnail sketches
•     plan out the best composition
•     transfer the thumbnail sketch to the watercolor paper
•     choose the best paint colors
•     use the best watercolor technique for each part of the painting
  

Lionel's classes are standalone, so you can take one or several classes.

Week 1:  Painting done using a low-key color palette.  Click for PayPal link for February 8 class.

Week 3:  Painting done using the full range of palette colors.  Click for PayPal Link for March 14 class.

NOTE:  Paintings here are representational, but paintings done in class will be of similar subjects.  Lionel does repeat some of his references, which is a GREAT way to see your progress as you take more classes.
