Class Description:
Lionel is back with another set of landscape reference photos for us! Lionel's love of painting, combined with his love of teaching, will provide students with a wonderful opportunity to learn watercolor techniques. Lionel has a calm, assured teaching style that soothes anxious students and makes learning easy and fun. Lionel teaches in the traditional manner, guiding students in watercolor painting, starting with composition and thumbnail sketches and ending with knowing where to put those final details. Lionel teaches you how to take a reference photo and use it for inspiration, not for copying. If you want to make leaps and bounds in your watercolor work, this is the class for you! We've extended Lionel's classes so students can complete each painting the day of class. The August 1 class will be painted on sandpaper and the August 15 class will be pen and wash. |

plan out the best composition
transfer the thumbnail sketch to the watercolor paper
choose the best paint colors
use the best watercolor technique for each part of the painting
