Class Description:
Lionel's love of painting, combined with his love of teaching, will provide students with a wonderful opportunity to learn intermediate watercolor techniques. Lionel teaches in the traditional manner, guiding students in watercolor painting "from start to finish." Lionel will show students how to pick the best reference material, do thumbnail sketches, plan the composition, implement drawing skills, choose paint colors, and use the most appropriate techniques for the subject matter. Lionel has a calm, assured teaching style that soothes anxious students and makes learning easy and fun.
Examples of how to progress from a photo to a finished painting using the techniques learned in Lionel's class are below:
