Class Description
Ink drawing gives us the unique ability to create value and texture with the mere stroke of a pen. But paint adds the pure vibrancy of color. The solution is to combine the best of both media—ink drawing and watercolor. Armed with a pen and a brush you’ll discover the fun and excitement of learning new techniques using the combination of the two. Click for Supplies List Click for Frank Zampardi's Bio |

Come and Paint All Day with Like-Minded Artists
No matter how much you try, you won't paint at home. When you are at home, you probably get distracted with duties, projects and the stress of things that need to get done. After all, when will you get two paintings a day at home? At the Art Center you have nothing to do...just show up and paint and spend time with your new and old friends.

Kim R. Shields
www.kimritchieshields.com April 30, 2019 9:00 .a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (1/2 hour lunch) "Working with Photographs-Start to Finish" All Levels Welcome Fee $55.00 payable to Beverly Hennessy Please use the registration form to mail in payment. |
Class Description:
When Plein Air is not possible or not your preference, photographs prepared properly are a viable alternative. We will explore common pitfalls from working from photographs and ways to overcome them. While we will be working from photographs, course will deal with principles that can be applied to all art. We will explore not just “how” but some of the “why” in creating the artwork and the goals you want to achieve. But how do you get there? How do you put on paper what your mind wants? We will work to create the art you want in two ways: We will explore the desire to create, and then the technical ability to create it. Supplies:
My only recommendation is the use of watercolor tube paints instead of pans. The use of Pan watercolors might have worked for Winslow Homer, but why make it harder on ourselves.
