Class Description: Learn the art of Batik! In this series of one-day workshops we will layer free-flowing, bold watercolors on rice paper, utilize wax as a resist, then use the final cracks to produce fine detail lines. Workshop description: A Zentangle Labyrinth Walk with Trish O'Leary, Certified Zentangle Teacher. Have you ever walked a labyrinth? Followed its winding curves to the center space of quiet? Come join us for a labyrinth “walk” using Zentangle patterns. We will explore the history and purpose of labyrinths. We will be drawing on a facsimile of the five ring Beckwith Labyrinth. Zentangle patterns will guide us through the five rings as we circle round to the center space. You do not have to be an experienced tangler to take and enjoy this class. It will be slow and easy and fun. All supplies are included along with lunch. Just bring yourself and a smile! |

Workshop description:
Calling all crafters who want to try glass fusion without the investment of the tools and glass! Annie will be teaching a Glass Fusion 101 class to satisfy the requirement of a basic glass fusion class needed before joining a glass fusion club. This class typically costs $100 - $200 at other venues so this is a real value! The class will go over the concepts of glass fusing, what happens in the kiln during firings, how to cut straight and curvy lines, nipping glass, and trying your hand at using a glass grinder. In this class you will make a simple but elegant dish and several glass pendants. All glass will be provided by the instructor and you will share a set of glass tools. All the firing will be done by the instructor. You will pick up your pieces two weeks after the class is completed. You have a choice of a morning or afternoon class. |

Workshop description:
Something new for us at Village Art Workshops! The morning class is a necklace called "Spiral Waves" and is done with bead weaving, which is a type of sewing with a variety of crystals and seed beads. The afternoon class is a bracelet called "Netted Watercolor" and is also bead weaving with seed beads and glass beads or pearls. Both projects are available in different color choices, and kits will also be available for sale. |
