Class Description:

Whether painting a landscape or abstract, color, light, and texture are what interest Cindy. She likes to translate what she sees into paintings using bold shapes and colors with energetic mark making.  This series of workshops with Cindy focuses on this style of painting using a variety of subject matter.  Cindy is an inspirational teacher who will help you learn to enjoy the freedom of acrylic painting.

For each of the workshops, we will complete a painting in a day using loose brushstrokes in an impressionistic style. We will touch on the concepts of toned background, color mixing, transparency versus opaque colors, composition, and negative space.  Each workshop will focus on a different concept, i.e. painting boats, glass reflections, water, or using a palette knife. We will do a color mixing exercise in the morning, followed by technique instruction and demonstration.  We will complete the painting together in stages.
