David will be teaching you watercolor from beginning to end; starting with teaching you how to take total control of the watercolor medium, leading to using that control of the medium to create well-composed watercolors. Subject matter will be changing daily with photo reference supplied in the morning and afternoon. Lessons will include almost every element that David can think of that will teach you how to paint a watercolor with confidence. David's teaching method goes from group teaching in the morning switching to one on one in the afternoon. This workshop is designed to benefit all levels of painters. Teaching students to conquer the medium of watercolor is David's goal and he takes great pride in making sure every student leaves with the ability to control watercolor. Linda Wokoun
www.lindawokoun.com January 19, 2021 Live Zoom Workshop 10 am to 2 pm (one-hour break for lunch) "Positive/Negative Rhododendron" Watercolor All Levels Welcome Fee: $89 payable to Wanda Boyd Please use the registration form to mail in payment. or Click to pay via PayPal |
Workshop Description:
Wet-into-wet painting is one of the essential watercolor techniques for any painter. It leverages the unique properties of watercolor to create loose, luminous washes that can be developed into representational or abstract subjects. In this class, students will have the opportunity to practice wet-into-wet techniques as well as negative painting to pull our compositions together. The class demo will be based on a rhododendron, but students are encouraged to use their own photo reference if preferred. We will begin with la technique that I call “rainbowing” -- letting color mix on the paper. Once dried we will shift to negative painting to pull the image together. If you are new to wet-into-wet painting, choose photos with a combination of simple shapes and a few detailed areas. Linda will conduct a step-by-step demo, giving you plenty of time to paint. Since the class is interactive, you will be able to show your work through your computer or iPad to get personal feedback on your painting as well as see everybody else’s work. Every registration comes with replays of the Zoom class available for thirty days.
